Using PRP, Prolotherapy And POCUS Workshop
This workshop provides an exploration of Regenerative Injection Therapies (RIT) with a focus on Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and its clinical applications. Emphasizing a regenerative approach rooted in prolotherapy principles, the session delves into various therapeutic strategies for treating musculoskeletal conditions, such as tendinopathies and joint osteoarthritis. By stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms, RIT targets underlying biomechanical dysfunction, addressing not only symptoms but also the causes of musculoskeletal pain. Key topics include an overview of PRP systems, the significance of platelet concentrations, and patient selection criteria. The discussion highlights practical considerations for clinicians, including the importance of comprehensive patient assessment, treatment protocols, and the integration of rehabilitation and nutrition for optimal outcomes. Clinical cases such as lateral epicondylosis and gluteal tendinopathy are discussed, demonstrating the efficacy of PRP in promoting tissue repair and remodeling. The workshop also covers practical application techniques, with live demonstrations, evidence-based outcomes, and strategies for minimising complications. This presentation underscores the importance of individualised treatment approaches and the need for standardised PRP protocols to ensure consistent patient outcomes. Dr Ramona Chrssidis Biography MBBS FRACGP DCH GradDipMuscMed(Flinders) GradCertHealth(ClinRehab) Dr Ramona Chryssidis has worked in the specific interest area of Musculoskeletal Medicine since 2002. She is a Fellow of the RACGP and completed the Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine (Flinders University) in 2004. She is passionate about providing a comprehensive approach to understanding and managing the cause of a patient’s musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Combined with a thorough assessment, she utilises a number of treatment techniques, including ultrasound guided regenerative injection therapies (dextrose prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma), trigger point injections, Lyftogt perineural injection treatment and peripheral nerve and fascial hydrodissection. Ramona has a special interest in the assessment and management of sacroiliac joint dysfunction and hypermobility disorders. She regularly attends local and international workshops and conferences to keep her skills up to date. Ramona works in a multidisciplinary clinic in Adelaide, and enjoys collaborating with medical and allied health practitioners to achieve the best outcome for her patients. She is the current President of the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine (AAMM) and convenor and tutor for the Adelaide node of the AAMM Certificate course and Injection Therapies workshops for doctors. She has presented and taught at Australian and international workshops. Dr. Zaid Matti Biography FAFMM, FNZCMM, FRNZCGP, MBCHB, PgDipSurgAnat Otago, PgDipMSM Otago Known as #MSKDOC, is a specialist in Musculoskeletal Medicine with a subspecialty focus on Regenerative Medicine and Interventional Pain Management. Utilizing advanced orthobiologic therapies, he employs cutting-edge techniques to deliver precise, image-guided interventions under ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance. His practice emphasizes minimally invasive procedures targeting a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal pathologies, offering patients access to state-of-the-art regenerative modalities. Dr. Matti’s expertise lies in the application of orthobiologics—cellular therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)—to promote tissue regeneration and functional restoration. As the Medical Director of RegenCellular Ltd , he oversees the development and clinical implementation of autologous stem cell therapies, integrating translational research into clinical practice. His involvement with multiple medical and biotechnology startup ventures underscores his commitment to advancing regenerative medicine and bridging the gap between innovation and patient care. A member of the Interventional Orthopaedics Foundation, the Orthobiologics Ethics Consortium, and the Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS), Dr. Matti is dedicated to promoting the ethical development, evidence-based marketing, and clinical application of orthobiologic therapies. Dr. Matti frequently presents at international conferences and symposia, sharing his insights on PRP, stem cell therapies, and advanced interventional techniques. His lectures often focus on the optimization of regenerative protocols, efficacy of orthobiologics in musculoskeletal disorders, and the integration of novel imaging modalities in interventional procedures. Practicing across the Auckland region, Dr. Matti provides his expertise in multiple clinical settings across Auckland Region. His experience in ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided interventions ensures that patients receive precise, individualized care. By offering access to cutting-edge regenerative treatments, he contributes significantly to the field of musculoskeletal medicine and enhances patient outcomes. |
